Chapel Offering for February to go to NFED

February 1, 2010

Chapel offerings for the month of February will go to the NFED - National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias. Money donated will be used to help a child (or a few) in any of the following ways...purchase a wig, get dentures, help with a cooling device, or maybe even attend a family conference.

You can learn more about the NFED and ectodermal dysplasia at www.nfed.org or just talk to me. My son, Alex, grade 7, is affected by ectodermal dysplasia. He does not wear a wig, but he does wear a full lower denture. He also cannot sweat, so he takes learned measures to stay cool when needed. He also deals with eczema daily. We have attended a few family conferences over the years and it is a wonderful experience to be with others facing similar situations and to know that you are not alone.

February is Ectodermal Awareness month and our family is selling raffle tickets as part of a fundraiser for the foundation. Tickets are $1 each with first place being $1000, second place is $300, and third place is $200. Alex and I will sell tickets all month. Just let us know if you are interested in purchasing any. The drawing is March 11 in Illinois (NFED office). Winners are notified by phone, so a phone number with your name is needed on the ticket stub.

Thank you for your help and support,

Janet Johnson - 5th Grade Teacher
